Moong Fali (noun.) know as groundnut in english are used in regional Indian cuisine not in the creamy curries, such as tikka masala, korma and pasanda, that often use cashew nuts(kaju) and ground almonds(badam) with cardamom(ilaichi), cinnamon(dalchini) and cloves(lavang) as part of their ingredients but it may not contain peanuts. 

Peanuts are common ingredients in most of the south Indian foods like idli, dosa and upma that are often served with peanut chutney. Regional Indian cuisine involves the use of peanut oil as the main cooking oil.

Many Chinese restaurants cook with nuts and may use peanut butter to seal eggrolls. Nuts are part of several Mexican dishes, such as mole and enchilada sauce ,while, a variety of sauces use peanut butter or peanut flour as a thickening agent in certain dishes. Peanuts are, sometime, part of seasoning, combined with chilli flakes, chilli sauces, and even pasta sauces.
