Thali (noun.) Traditionally, served Thali is a meal consisting of many different types of recipes served in a small amount to offer a range of tastes and nutrients. It presents the ubiquitous Indian lunch or dinner plate that contains at least 6 to 7 small bowls served with dals(dal tadka or sambar), curries(karahi curry or Makhani), cooked vegetables( like aloo gobi, baingan etc.) , curd, sweet dish, chutneys and pickles.
Most Indian traditional family get together, especially, in the South, accompany extensive meals, where you are offered several recipes on one plate or a banana leaf. A thali in Rajasthan is often a plat made up of Bronze (or steel) containing Rajasthani delicacies served in bronze (or steel) bowls.
