Chawal (Noun.), the English translation for Chawal is rice. It is the seed of the grass species Oryza sativa or Oryza glaberrima. It is a cereal grain, most widely consumed staple for a large part of the world's human population, especially in Asia. It is the agricultural commodity with the third-highest worldwide production, after sugarcane and maize.
People in the Indian subcontinent eat boiled rice or prepare many rice dishes like fried rice, vegetable pulao or chicken biriyani. It is also eaten as boiled rice and boiled lentils (dal-chawal), chawal chole( rice with soupy chickpea), chawal – rajma ( rice with kidney beans curry) etc.
