Halva is a dish made from granulated wheat, also known as sooji (or Rawa) in India. The word Sooji is commonly used in the Indian subcontinent for granulated wheat or a kind of semolina – a durum wheat product.
Rava is made by grinding husked wheat and it is widely used in the Indian subcontinent to make rava idli or rava dosa, upma or Poha. In the Indian subcontinent, people make ladoos or sweets dishes of rava.
Halva is mostly made from sooji, clarified butter( ghee), dry nuts and sugar. Halva can also be made from other types of grains like gram flour and wheat flour.
