The word Tiffin originated in British India. It is a slang used for a lunchbox that comes from the word from tiffing, which means, taking a little drink or sip.
Tiffins or dabbas can be found in many shapes and sizes that have mostly three to four stacking stainless steel compartment, firmly sealed with a tight-fitting lid and a side clip to prevent spillages and to handle for carrying on top. Such lunchboxes can be found in many shapes and sizes. The Indian tiffin box mostly contains Indian thali meals.
